Can a 454 bored 60 over fit into an 88 I-ROC Camaro?

I have actually done this motor swap and it is possible, yet tricky, I hope you know how to weld, because you will need to move the motor mounts, I would advise that you get a 70's model Radiator and a shorty waterpump. you can forget the 700 R4 tranny, it is about one and 9/16 too longCan a 454 bored 60 over fit into an 88 I-ROC Camaro?
Yeah, in Chevy's you can interchange almost anything. You should be able to buy adapter kits from any of the main suppliers. Can a 454 bored 60 over fit into an 88 I-ROC Camaro?
With a Chevy, all dreams are possible. But you'll need to spend afew bucks to connect the sub frames.
The size of the bore does not determine if it will fit or not. A big block is a big block. Whether it be a 454, 396, or 427. So to tell you it will fit if you have a retro kit for it.
yes if you want to twist it in half it can be done but do it right or waist your money you need a full frame built for the car for a big block I had an 82 ta 355 built pretty strong twisted the car I couldnt even hardly keep the doors closed
Check fender/head clearance, bottom clearance for motor mounts and hood clearance- probably need a bulged hood. Camaro body original design was with 'small block' in mind, 454 comes from old big car and truck line designs, it's called a big block for a reason.. A four core radiator will probably be needed also.
Joey, you said you done that swap?

You do not need to weld anything to put the motor mounts in. You use the stock drilled small block holes, but you put big block frame mounts from any older car on.. The big block mounts will keep engine lenght wise in pretty much the same place.

You can also use stock sb frame mounts and bb engine side mounts, bolt frame mounts to 1st set of holes in K member

The big block is a longer and taller engine, so hood clearance becomes a prob. An aftermarket glass hood, a hole cut in oem one, etc will fix that prob..

Don't know how the trans grew in lenght though.. The measurement from point mount to trans flange is the same for big and small blocks.. I guess you welded you mounts in the wrong spot..

The extra lenght of the big block goes fowards, not towards the back

Now the 700r4 is alittle on the weak side to handle the torque of a built 454.

You will need a better rad, and a good elec cooling fan. You'll need an aftermarket 31'; x 19'; 2 core alum rad., and an elec fan that puts out atleast 3000 cfm (a stock 2 speed ford taurus fan from the late 80's, early 90's bigger v6 is the best elec fans I have every ran)

Tall valve covers will hit the wiper motor

You might have to dent in the top of firewall so you can get dist in and out

You'll need bbc swap headers from hooker, I think others makes them as well.. Rest of exhaust will have to be custom bent, etc.

You'll have to have weld in sub frame connectors or you will twist up the car pretty bad over time.

The added weight of the bbc will sit the front end lower, best to change to a stronger front spring

If your car still has in tank elec fuel pump, that has to go. Carbs can only handle 5-8 psi.. The elec one puts out 40+ psi.

You need a fuel pump that flows about 110-120 GPH with 5-8 psi pressure

The stock 10 bolt rear won't last long if you have traction. I broke 2 already with a 350 small block. Now running a ford 9';

I think thats all the major things
