He wouldn't be as popular, he would be behind Jay and Kanye.Why do you think lupe turned down the chance to join the roc?
1. lupe is not underground
2. I think to keep his image lupe probably wouldn't be served well by going over to roc-a-fella, someone like lupe who tries to keep an image of ';socially concious'; joining up w/a crew like roc-a-fella just woudln't suit him.
could of been a lot of things but one could be he maybe wants to be independent . i dont own i single lupe album but i respect him as a artist and a lyricist makes a lil balance for the generation of today.
Perhaps he would not have as much freedom over the material he produces. And probably would have as much say so as to what goes on his album. This seems to be some of the main reasons alot of artists leave records companies and offers.
i think Because he's supposedly going to retire after his 3 album so i didn't he wanted Jay-z to waste his money but i doubt he's gonna retire the game needs him
Because he knows all about staying real and being mainstream makes it very hard to maintain your sense of genuineness
